On 29 September 2026, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) conducted a training program on the expanded rollout of Payment Hub for 20 People’s Credit Funds (PCFs). The program aimed to equip participating PCFs with the necessary operational and technical knowledge and procedures, while preparing the conditions required for system connectivity and integration and the rollout of Payment Hub across the entire PCF Network. This marks the next phase of implementation following the successful pilot at 10 PCFs, which received approval from the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) upon Co-opBank’s completion of all preparatory work.

The program was attended and chaired by Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam – Deputy General Director of Co-opBank, along with managers and staff from the Payment Center, Card and Digital Banking Services Center, and Information Technology Center; management and staff from several Co-opBank branches; and representatives from the management and staff of the 20 PCFs participating in the rollout.

Representatives of technology partners also attended the program. Delivering his remarks, Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam – Deputy General Director of Co-opBank, emphasized the importance of training, guidance and technology transfer in the implementation of Payment Hub. The Co-opBank Deputy General Director noted that equipping Co-opBank and PCF staff with comprehensive knowledge and strengthening their operational and technical capabilities, together with closer coordination among relevant units and technology partners, would help ensure that system connectivity and operations are implemented in a coordinated, secure and seamless manner.

As digital transformation places increasingly demanding requirements on payment operations and data connectivity, Payment Hub is being implemented to establish a centralized connectivity platform between Co-opBank and PCFs. The system can be integrated with the existing Core Banking software used by each PCF, enabling transaction data to be synchronized and standardized without replacing or altering the operational systems currently in use. This allows PCF staff to continue performing their daily operations on familiar software, while transactions are connected and processed through the centralized Payment Hub.

Overview of the training program

During the training program, trainees received detailed guidance on the connectivity mechanism and automated data transmission between PCFs’ Core Banking systems and Payment Hub, as well as procedures for coordinating system connection, testing, transaction inquiries, and error reporting and resolution among Co-opBank Head Office, branches, PCFs and software developers. Guidance was also provided on information security, secure communication channels and user access authorization to ensure that the implementation and operation of the system comply with existing SBV regulations.

Through the training program, Co-opBank continues to strengthen coordination with its branches, PCFs and technology partners in preparing for, connecting to and implementing Payment Hub. The initiative also represents a concrete step toward developing shared technology infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and supporting payment operations across the PCF Network, in line with the objectives set out in Decision No. 1266/QD-SBV dated 11 June 2026 of SBV on the comprehensive restructuring of the People’s Credit Fund Network and the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision to 2045.

Through these efforts, Co-opBank continues to reinforce its role as the focal bank in supporting connectivity, developing technology infrastructure and advancing digital transformation, thereby contributing to greater operational efficiency, stronger linkages and the sustainable development of the PCF Network. Following the completion of the rollout at these 20 PCFs, Co-opBank will continue to expand Payment Hub across the entire PCF Network in accordance with the planned roadmap.
