Overview of Co-opBank

The Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) was formerly known as the Central People’s Credit Fund (CCF), which officially commenced operations on 5 August 1995. Pursuant to the Law on Credit Institutions 2010, the CCF was transformed into the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam, effective from 1 July 2013.

Co-opBank effectively fulfills its role in systemic linkage, fund intermediation, and the provision of banking products and services, supporting PCFs to operate safely and efficiently. At the same time, the bank provides advisory and training services to enhance the governance and operational capacity of PCFs, builds a shared digital platform for PCFs, and supports the system in developing a unified brand identity. Co-opBank actively participates in social welfare initiatives, demonstrating its strong commitment to the community while contributing to the implementation of the National Target Programmes on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and New Rural Development in line with the policies of the Communiste Party and the State.

Co-opBank has expanded its partnerships with numerous domestic and international organizations and is currently a member of the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU), the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA), the Vietnam Banks Association (VNBA), and the Vietnam Association of People’s Credit Funds (VAPCF).

Co-opBank has been honored to receive the Second-Class Labour Order and the Third-Class Labour Order awarded by the President of Vietnam, along with numerous emulation awards and commendations presented by the Prime Minister, the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to both the organization and its outstanding individuals.
