On February 23, 2026 (the 7th day of the Lunar New Year), in the celebratory spirit of the first working day of the Year of the Snake, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) was honored to receive Mr. Pham Tien Dung — Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) — along with representatives from several SBV-affiliated units. The delegation paid an official visit, conducted a working session, and extended warm Lunar New Year greetings to the leadership, officers, and staff throughout the Co-opBank system.

SBV Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung, acknowledged and commended the positive results achieved by Co-opBank in recent times

On behalf of Co-opBank, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Chairman of the Board of Directors – expressed sincere appreciation for the close attention and guidance of the Party Committee and SBV leadership toward the operations of Co-opBank and the People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) network in recent times. He also briefed the Deputy Governor and the delegation on the outstanding results achieved by Co-opBank in 2025.

Accordingly, in 2025, despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges arising from complex economic fluctuations and limitations in financial capacity, Co-opBank made vigorous efforts to successfully fulfill its assigned tasks and further strengthen its role as the central linkage institution of the PCF network. These achievements were made possible thanks to the timely direction of the Communist Party, the State, the National Assembly, and the Government — particularly the support and guidance of the SBV — together with the solidarity, determination, and creativity of the entire leadership team, officers, and employees across the system.

Entering 2026 with the momentum of the New Year spirit, Co-opBank reaffirmed its commitment to effectively fulfilling its political mission as the bank of the PCF network, while striving to achieve the highest possible business targets and contribute positively to the country’s socio-economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Chairman of the Board of Directors respectfully expressed his sincere appreciation for the close attention and direction of the Party Committee and the leadership of the SBV toward the operations of Co-opBank and the PCFs network

On behalf of the Party Committee and the SBV leadership, Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung acknowledged and commended the positive results achieved by Co-opBank over the past year. Despite facing numerous challenges, Co-opBank continued to affirm its role as the bank of the PCF network, effectively carrying out capital balancing operations and providing timely liquidity support to PCFs. Key business and financial targets were largely achieved or exceeded; the structure of assets and funding sources shifted toward greater sustainability; and the non-performing loan ratio was maintained at a controlled, low level.

Furthermore, Co-opBank actively implemented restructuring measures in conjunction with bad debt resolution; closely coordinated with the SBV in addressing weak PCFs; accelerated technological modernization and digital transformation; expanded digital banking services in rural areas; strengthened training and technology transfer; and refined model regulations and a unified brand identity system. These collective efforts have contributed significantly to reinforcing the safety and stability of the entire PCFs network.

The year 2026 also marks an important milestone, as Co-opBank prepares to hold its 4th Members’ Congress for the 2026–2031 term. This term carries foundational significance, building momentum for the bank’s strong development and contributing to the achievement of the country’s socio-economic development goals for the 2026–2030 period.

The Deputy Governor called upon the Board of Directors, the Executive Board, and all officers and employees of Co-opBank to continue building on the achievements attained; effectively implement Directive No. 01/CT-NHNN on the key tasks of the banking sector in 2026; uphold the spirit of solidarity; proactively execute business plans; and ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable operations — worthy of serving as a cornerstone institution for the PCF network and making increasingly meaningful contributions to the development of the banking sector.

Beyond business objectives, the Deputy Governor emphasized that Co-opBank should remain committed to enhancing the well-being and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of its officers and employees, while actively fulfilling its social responsibilities and promoting humanistic values for the benefit of the broader community.
