In his directive remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Co-opBank’s Board of Directors – emphasized that, over its 31-year journey of establishment and development, Co-opBank has gradually strengthened its financial capacity, credit quality, risk management, and management capabilities, increasingly aligning with modern banking standards. Notably, on 13 August 2026, the Prime Minister issued a decision on the provision of an additional VND 5 trillion in state capital to increase Co-opBank’s charter capital. This additional capital represents an important resource, strengthening the Bank’s financial foundation and opening a new chapter in Co-opBank’s development.

Alongside strengthening its financial capacity, Co-opBank is focusing on technology modernization, accelerating digital transformation, developing payment infrastructure, and expanding modern banking products and services. These efforts will enhance the Bank’s ability to serve members of People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) and local communities, particularly in rural, remote, and underserved areas. In particular, the Scheme on the Restructuring of the PCF System and Co-opBank for the 2026–2030 period, with a vision to 2045, calls for Co-opBank to further strengthen its role as the central institution linking and supporting the PCF network, while enhancing its governance and management capabilities to meet development requirements in the new period.

On behalf of Co-opBank’s leadership, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong acknowledged and commended the contributions of the Bank’s officers and employees, particularly key personnel across the system. He also called for a focus on four key areas of work: upholding Co-opBank’s principles, mission, and role as the central institution linking the PCF network; accelerating modernization, digitalization, and digital transformation; strengthening governance and risk management to ensure safe and efficient operations; and developing human resources and corporate culture, building a proactive, united, and responsible workforce.

The Chairman of Co-opBank’s Board of Directors expressed his confidence that, in his new position as Deputy General Director, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh will continue to bring into full play his capabilities, experience, and sense of responsibility, working together with the Bank’s leadership, officers, and employees to successfully fulfill assigned tasks and contribute to the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of Co-opBank and the PCF network.

In his new position, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh pledged to continue bringing into full play his experience and sense of responsibility, while taking a proactive and determined approach to his work, strictly following the direction of the Bank’s leadership, and preserving and promoting solidarity across the entire system.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh affirmed that he would make every effort to successfully fulfill his assigned responsibilities, work closely with relevant units, officers and employees, contribute to improving operational efficiency and strengthening governance capacity, and continue to effectively fulfill Co-opBank’s role in accompanying and supporting the PCF network.
