In the context of the banking sector’s ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation, develop modern products and services, and enhance customer service quality, training and human resource development have become increasingly important to the sustainable growth of credit institutions. Recognizing this, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) has continuously strengthened training and professional development activities for staff across its system. Particular emphasis has been placed on supporting People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) in enhancing governance capacity, adopting technology, and implementing modern banking products and services.

As the apex institution of the PCFs network, Co-opBank has consistently identified training support, technology transfer, and accompanying PCFs throughout their development journey as one of its core responsibilities. Training programs are designed based on the practical needs of PCFs while aligning with the development orientation of the banking sector and the digital transformation requirements of the current period.

One of the most notable initiatives was a training program on the CF-eBank electronic banking payment and funds transfer system and digital banking services for more than 700 staff members from 340 PCFs. Through the program, participants were updated on new knowledge regarding products, operational procedures, service delivery models, and customer support solutions for digital banking services. The training content was developed with a strong practical focus, enabling PCF staff to quickly apply the knowledge and skills acquired to their day-to-day operations.

The effective deployment of digital banking services not only helps improve customer service quality but also contributes to transforming the delivery of financial services in rural, remote and underserved areas, where PCFs play an important role as providers of capital and financial services to local communities. Through its training efforts, Co-opBank has supported PCFs in gradually mastering technology, enhancing their capacity to advise and guide customers in accessing modern financial services, thereby contributing to the promotion of cashless payments in line with the policies of the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam.

In addition, Co-opBank organized a training program on the Comprehensive Payment Solutions Package and Electronic Tax Payment Service for Household Businesses for approximately 4,200 staff members from 580 PCFs participating as payment agents. The program was conducted on a large scale and attracted the participation of a significant number of PCF staff nationwide.

Through the training program, participants received detailed guidance on new payment products and services, service delivery procedures, and customer advisory and support skills. They were also provided with practical solutions to issues and situations that may arise during implementation. Equipping PCF staff with comprehensive knowledge and skills enables PCFs to take a more proactive role in delivering modern financial services to customers, particularly individual customers, household businesses and small enterprises in local communities.

These training programs not only contribute to enhancing the professional and operational capabilities of PCF staff but also create opportunities for PCFs to expand their range of products and services, provide greater convenience to customers, and gradually diversify their sources of income. This is regarded as an important solution for strengthening the operational capacity of PCFs in an increasingly competitive financial market and in response to the growing diversity of customer needs.

Alongside training programs for PCFs, Co-opBank has continued to focus on improving the quality of its internal human resources to meet development requirements in the new period. Numerous training programs have been organized for employees across the system, covering practical topics such as developing internal trainers, applying artificial intelligence (AI) in human resource management, and updating knowledge on new regulations relating to labor laws, personal data protection and information security.

In particular, Co-opBank’s e-learning platform has continued to be utilized effectively, with more than 5,000 staff learning sessions recorded during the month. The platform offers a wide range of training modules on banking operations, management skills, customer service skills and newly issued legal regulations, enabling employees to proactively learn and update their knowledge anytime and anywhere.

With a people-centered development approach, Co-opBank will continue to strengthen training, professional development and capacity-building initiatives for employees across the system while enhancing support for member PCFs in accessing modern banking products and services. Through these practical training programs, Co-opBank not only contributes to improving the quality of human resources but also creates momentum for innovation, digital transformation and enhanced operational efficiency throughout the entire PCFs network.
