On the afternoon of June 2, 2026, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) held a Conference to review its performance in the first six months of 2026 and deploy key tasks for the remaining six months of the year. The Conference aimed to comprehensively assess the Bank’s performance during the first half of the year, identify existing difficulties and challenges, and agree on key solutions to successfully fulfill the targets and objectives set for 2026.
Attending the Conference were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank; Ms. Pham Thi Hong Minh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Co-opBank; members of the Board of Directors, Executive Board and Board of Supervisors; leaders of departments and divisions at the Head Office; and Directors of all 32 Co-opBank branches.
At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Giang – Standing Deputy General Director of Co-opBank, presented the Mid-Year Performance Review Report and the orientations and key tasks for the second half of 2026. The report indicated that while the economy continued to maintain positive growth momentum, the financial and banking sector still faced numerous pressures, difficulties and challenges. Nevertheless, Co-opBank closely followed the directives of the State Bank of Vietnam, proactively implementing a range of coordinated management solutions and further promoting its role as the central bank of the People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) network, thereby contributing to the stable development of the entire network.
During the first six months of the year, Co-opBank focused on implementing key priorities, particularly capital mobilization, digital banking development, support for PCFs, and the accelerated deployment of the PCF Brand Identity System. Capital mobilization was identified as a top priority, while digital banking targets were assigned to each unit to promote digital transformation and expand banking services to PCFs, their members and customers.

The Conference also recognized a number of notable achievements in digital transformation. Co-opBank’s team won the “People’s Digital Education” Award at the 2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest. The payment network continued to expand, with 1,021 out of 1,173 PCFs participating in Co-opBank’s payment system, bringing the total number of connected service points to 1,125. Transactions conducted through digital channels accounted for 92% of total transaction volume, while the number of payment accounts reached nearly 600,000, up 12% compared to December 31st , 2025. These results contributed to promoting cashless payments and advancing the goal of financial inclusion.
At the Conference, representatives from Co-opBank’s Ha Tay, Lam Dong and Ho Chi Minh City branches participated in discussions, reviewed achievements, shared practical experiences, and proposed various solutions to address challenges in capital mobilization, credit development, digital banking implementation and operational efficiency improvement at their respective units.
Addressing the Conference, Ms. Pham Thi Hong Minh – Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Co-opBank, stated that although operations in 2026 continued to face numerous challenges, particularly pressures related to funding sources, liquidity and increasingly intense market competition, the entire Co-opBank system had made concerted efforts to implement comprehensive solutions and had generally remained on track with the assigned targets and business plans. Capital management was carried out in a flexible manner, with timely adjustments to interest rate policies and the development of new deposit products to ensure liquidity safety and meet the operational needs of the network
Ms. Pham Thi Hong Minh emphasized that during the remaining months of the year, Co-opBank branches should continue to regard the care and support of PCFs as a core mission, while placing greater focus on capital mobilization. Branches should proactively monitor market developments and strengthen coordination with the Head Office to promptly propose mechanisms and solutions that are aligned with practical conditions. In addition, all units across the system should intensify governance and management efforts, review and strengthen their workforce, and improve operational efficiency, particularly at branches facing significant challenges. At the same time, strict compliance with financial and accounting regulations, cost management requirements, inspection and supervision procedures, and compliance standards should be maintained to contribute to the successful fulfillment of Co-opBank’s 2026 objectives and tasks.

In his directive remarks at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank, acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility and efforts made by the entire system in carrying out its political tasks and achieving business targets over the past period. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cương noted that, alongside the positive results achieved, units across the system should candidly recognize existing shortcomings and limitations in governance and management in order to implement timely corrective measures.
In response to new development requirements, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank requested all units to continue fostering a proactive spirit, renewing management thinking, and strengthening discipline and compliance in operations. He also emphasized the importance of succession planning, training and developing the next generation of leaders; enhancing the role and accountability of heads of units; promoting the application of technology; and improving operational quality and the competitiveness of the entire network. Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed his confidence that, with unity, determination and a strong sense of responsibility, the entire Co-opBank system would successfully accomplish its objectives and tasks for 2026, while laying a solid foundation for the effective implementation of the Overall Restructuring Project for the People’s Credit Fund System and the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam for the 2025–2030 period, with a vision toward 2045, in the years ahead.
