Along this journey, the team from Co-opBank made a strong impression by winning the “People’s Digital Education” award, affirming its proactive spirit in mastering technology, strongly spreading a culture of innovation, and demonstrating its determination to advance digital transformation from awareness to practical action.

The Closing Ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Pham Duc An – Member of the Communiste Party Central Committee and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV); Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan – Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Mr. Pham Tien Dzung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, SBV Deputy Governor, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, Head of the Steering Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; Mr. Pham Thanh Ha – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and SBV Deputy Governor; Mr. Dao Minh Tu – former SBV Standing Deputy Governor and Vice Chairman cum Secretary General of the Vietnam Banks Association, together with members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and leaders of departments and agencies under SBV.

A strategic intellectual playground
As one of the key activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Banking Industry (May 6, 1951 – May 6, 2026) and in response to the Banking Industry Digital Transformation Day, the “2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest” was organized under the theme “Proactive Digitalization – Breaking Through to the Future”, attracting the participation of 32 teams with more than 600 contestants and thousands of supporters from credit institutions, banking sector units and financial technology enterprises.
Co-opBank’s participation in the Contest once again demonstrated its efforts in promoting digital transformation across the entire system, gradually realizing the goal of building a modern, safe and people-centered digital financial ecosystem to better meet the growing needs of customers and People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) in the new development stage.
In his directive remarks, Mr. Pham Duc An – Member of the Party Central Committee and SBV Governor emphasized that the “2026 Banking Industry Digital Transformation Contest” was a highly meaningful and practical activity, serving not only as a competition but also as a forum for units across the banking industry to demonstrate and concretize the digital transformation policies and orientations of the Party, the State and the banking industry.
The SBV Governor affirmed that in recent years, the banking industry has continued to play a pioneering role in technology application, placing people and businesses at the center of its services. Digital payment infrastructure has been synchronously invested in, digital banking services have developed strongly, and many credit institutions have recorded digital transaction rates exceeding 90%.
To further promote digital transformation in the next stage, the SBV Governor requested the entire industry to continue placing people and businesses at the center, considering data as the foundation and technology as the driving force for development; while focusing on improving institutions, developing digital infrastructure and digital data, expanding the digital banking ecosystem, ensuring cybersecurity and data security, and prioritizing the development of digital human resources.

Delivering the closing remarks, Mr. Pham Tien Dzung – Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, SBV Deputy Governor, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union, Head of the Steering Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest affirmed that the Contest had successfully fulfilled its strategic objectives, making significant contributions to enhancing both digital mindset awareness and practical technology skills for officials across the banking industry.
Mr. Pham Tien Dzung emphasized that the success of the Contest was clearly demonstrated through its three comprehensive competition rounds, namely: “Combining Strengths” – stage performances conveying key messages; “Conquering the Digital Era” – competitions on professional knowledge, technology and data security; and “Creating the Digital Future” – presentations of initiatives and breakthrough solutions.
According to Mr. Pham Tien Dzung, throughout the competition journey, participating teams created a vibrant and competitive atmosphere, demonstrating their competence, intelligence and ability to apply technology in practice. Numerous solutions utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data and Blockchain technology in information security, fraud prevention and operational optimization were presented in a vivid and persuasive manner, affirming the future development trend of smart finance.
The Head of the Organizing Committee also assessed that the Contest had contributed to widely promoting the image of Vietnam’s banking industry as dynamic, modern, innovative and continuously transforming in the digital era.
Concluding the exciting competition journey, the Organizing Committee presented awards to honor outstanding teams that demonstrated innovative thinking, strong technology application capabilities and a proactive spirit in mastering digital transformation.

The team was honored with the “People’s Digital Education” Award. This achievement not only reflected the collective efforts of the team at a major industry-wide competition, but also demonstrated the increasingly widespread dissemination of a digital mindset toward building a modern and multifunctional bank serving and supporting the PCF system.
Behind the team’s journey at the Contest was a methodical preparation process involving young and enthusiastic staff members with professional expertise, technological thinking and an innovative spirit, who have been shaped through the practical implementation of digitalization solutions.
Participating in the Contest, the Co-opBank team not only brought a proactive spirit of learning, connection and dissemination of technological thinking, but also introduced practical digital solutions, affirming Co-opBank’s role in accompanying the PCF system and customers in comprehensive digital transformation.
In addition to its achievements at the industry-level Contest, the digital transformation movement across the entire Co-opBank system has also recorded many positive developments. Co-opBank launched the online competition “Learning about Digital Transformation in the Banking Industry” for all officials and employees throughout the system via the E-learning platform, attracting wide participation from trade union members and employees across Co-opBank. This demonstrated strong responsiveness and reflected the formation and spread of a culture of learning, innovation and digital adaptation throughout the system.
From professional competitions to operational practices, Co-opBank is gradually promoting digital transformation with PCFs and customers placed at the center, technology identified as the driving force, and people regarded as the foundation for sustainable development in the new stage.
