Within the framework of the international cooperation program between the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) and the Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU), on the morning of May 5th,2026, an ACCU delegation led by Mr. Ranjith Hettiarachchi – Technical Director of ACCU, visited and held a working session at Co-opBank Head Office.

Representing Co-opBank at the working session were Ms. Vu Thanh Hang – Member of the Board of Directors, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc – Deputy General Director, Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam – Deputy General Director, and representatives of several relevant departments at the Head Office.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Vu Thanh Hang – Member of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank shared information about Co-opBank’s operating model, mission, and vision. Accordingly, with the goal of becoming a modern and people-oriented bank serving as the core institution of the People’s Credit Funds (PCF) network and providing sustainable microfinance solutions for the community, Co-opBank – throughout more than 30 years of establishment and development, has affirmed its role as the Bank of the PCF system in Vietnam and achieved many significant accomplishments, thereby making important contributions to the country’s socio-economic development.
At the working session, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc – Deputy General Director and Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam – Deputy General Director of Co-opBank also shared views regarding Co-opBank’s support for the PCF system. In particular, they emphasized that Co-opBank has developed a digital banking ecosystem to support PCFs in connectivity and transaction processing, fund transfer, and payment needs quickly and efficiently, while diversifying payment methods and enhancing the experience of PCF members and customers.

On behalf of ACCU, Mr. Ranjith Hettiarachchi – ACCU Technical Director highly appreciated the strong strategic partnership of more than 20 years between Co-opBank and ACCU. The ACCU representative emphasized that, through the visit and working sessions with Co-opBank and the PCF system in Vietnam, the ACCU delegation hoped to gain deeper insights into the organizational model and practical operational mechanisms of Co-opBank and the PCFs network. This also provided an opportunity for ACCU member organizations to better understand the mission of a central institution in supporting members and serving the community, while reaffirming their commitment to continuing to strengthen and promote these core values in the future.

The working session took place in an open and trusting atmosphere, reaffirming the importance of international cooperation in the digital era. As the central institution of the PCF system, Co-opBank reaffirmed its commitment to continuing close support and connectivity with the PCF system in order to best serve and protect the interests of its members. The success of the learning exchange program not only further strengthened the more than 20-year friendship and partnership between Co-opBank and ACCU, but also laid a solid foundation for both sides to continue sharing experiences and promoting practical cooperation activities, thereby contributing to enhancing the position of the cooperative credit model in Vietnam and across the region. This also creates favorable conditions for both sides to maintain close connectivity, jointly spread positive values, and promote shared prosperity for people and member communities in the future.

Within the framework of the working program, representatives of the leadership of Co-opBank and ACCU presented certificates for the “Vietnam Exposure 2026” training and learning exchange program to member organizations from Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Nepal, and Papua New Guinea.
In Vietnam, the ACCU delegation also carried out some important field study activities. Earlier, on May 4th, 2026, the delegation had a working session with Co-opBank Hai Phong branch and Kien Hung PCF to learn about and exchange practical experiences regarding the operating model of local PCFs, as well as business management and member care practices. Subsequently, on May 5th, 2026, the delegation visited and worked with the Vietnam Association of People’s Credit Funds (VAPCF) to gain a deeper understanding of the overall operations of the PCFs network in Vietnam, officially concluding the meaningful learning exchange program.
