In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Banking (May 6th , 1951 – May 6th , 2026), officers and employees across the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) system actively participated in the online run “75 Years of Vietnam Banking.” The activity not only promoted the spirit of physical fitness and wellness but also contributed to strengthening solidarity and collective efforts in implementing social welfare programs.

Embarking on a Meaningful Journey
On the morning of May 3rd , 2026, the launching ceremony of the online running event “75 Years of Vietnam Banking” officially took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere of emulation and unity. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Pham Duc An – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV); Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – Member of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Mr. Pham Tien Dung – Deputy Governor of the SBV and Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union; Mr. Pham Thanh Ha – Deputy Governor of the SBV; along with leaders of SBV-affiliated units and credit institutions.
Representing Co-opBank were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Member of the SBV Party Executive Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank; Ms. Pham Thi Hong Minh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, and General Director; Ms. Dang Mai Phuong – Member of the Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Co-opBank Trade Union; together with members of the Board of Directors, Board of Management, Supervisory Board, leaders of Head Office departments, and representatives of the Trade Union and Youth Union.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Tien Dung – SBV Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union stated that, amid the vibrant atmosphere of emulation toward the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Vietnam Banking, the SBV organized the launching ceremony of the online running event “75 Years of Vietnam Banking.”
“This online running event is one of a series of practical activities celebrating the 75th anniversary of Vietnam Banking, marking the beginning of a new journey driven not only by achievements and figures, but also by determination, spirit, and solidarity of the entire banking sector together with the nation entering a new era.
This is not merely a sports activity, but also a meaningful program that spreads the spirit of resilience, perseverance, and continuous efforts of the banking sector throughout its 75-year journey of establishment and development. At the same time, the event demonstrates the unity and solidarity of all officers, trade union members, and employees across the sector. Although each participant runs on different routes, they all share a common goal, contributing to collective strength and promoting the spirit of solidarity.
In particular, by converting each kilometer run into contributions for social welfare activities, the event meaningfully connects physical fitness with community responsibility, clearly reflecting the banking sector’s role, responsibility, and compassion toward society,” Mr. Pham Tien Dung shared.

The Entire Co-opBank System Responds Enthusiastically
Right from the opening of registration at 00:01 on April 28, 2026, the running event received an enthusiastic response across the banking sector. The number of registrations increased rapidly, and by 8:47 PM on May 2, 2026, the registration portal officially closed with a total of 51,000 registered participants.
Among them, officers and employees throughout the Co-opBank system actively registered and participated in the event across four distance categories: 75 km, 136 km, 195.1 km, and 202.6 km. The enthusiastic participation of Co-opBank’s leadership and staff created a vibrant atmosphere of emulation, strongly spreading the spirit of sportsmanship and perseverance across the entire system.
Co-opBank’s participation and support were also reflected in its proactive organizational efforts and forms of engagement. Many branches established running groups, launched internal campaigns, set collective distance goals, and shared daily achievements to motivate participants and strengthen solidarity.
Behind this strong spirit of participation lies Co-opBank’s long-standing tradition of actively joining emulation movements launched by the State Bank of Vietnam, as well as its pioneering role in community-oriented activities.
Over the years, as a bank serving the People’s Credit Fund system, Co-opBank has consistently pursued the vision of becoming a modern, dynamic, and community-oriented bank. The Bank has devoted significant resources to social welfare programs, effectively implementing initiatives to support disadvantaged people, build charity houses, sponsor education and healthcare programs, award scholarships, provide Tet gifts, accompany localities in new rural development, and support disaster recovery efforts.
Building upon this foundation, every step taken today by Co-opBank’s officers and employees carries not only the meaning of improving physical health, but also continues a journey of sharing and contributing to society. As each kilometer is converted into resources for social welfare activities, every runner becomes an “ambassador” spreading the spirit of compassion, transforming individual efforts into collective value for the community and making practical contributions to social welfare activities.
