On March 31, 2026, immediately following the successful conclusion of the 2025 Member’s General Assembly, marking the beginning of a new development phase for the 4th term (2026–2031), the Board of Directors of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) promptly convened its first meeting to set out key priorities for the upcoming period.

The First Meeting of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank for the 4th term
In accordance with its Charter on organization and operations, the Board of Directors of Co-opBank for the 4th term convened its first meeting to review and approve matters within its authority and to set directions for key activities of the new term. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
At the meeting, the Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of Ms. Pham Thi Hong Minh as Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Co-opBank.
The Board also discussed and proposed specific assignments for each member based on their representative roles. Members representing state capital at Co-opBank will focus on strategic orientation and ensuring that Co-opBank fulfills its role as the bank of all People’s Credit Funds (PCFs). Members representing PCFs will promote their role as a bridge within the system, reflecting practical needs from the grassroots level and contributing to policy recommendations to strengthen linkages and enhance support for the safe and sustainable development of PCFs. In addition, the Board will develop and finalize coordination regulations among the Board of Directors, the Executive Board, and the Supervisory Board to improve effectiveness and efficiency in governance, management, and oversight.
The Board also agreed on the policy to consolidate the personnel of the Management Committee of the Safety Assurance Fund for the PCF system, and to strengthen the internal audit function as proposed by the Supervisory Board. At the same time, it will develop mechanisms and policies for members of the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board representing PCFs, and finalize reports and documents to be submitted to the State Bank of Vietnam in accordance with regulations on the outcomes of the Assembly.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank emphasized that the new-term Board of Directors is committed to renewing governance toward digitalization and streamlining. In this context, digitalizing processes is not merely a tool but a core foundation for improving governance quality and decision-making. Based on this approach, Co-opBank will gradually build a streamlined operating model, optimize resources, rationalize its network structure, and establish proactive, disciplined, and transparent mechanisms for controlling financial and operational costs, thereby laying the groundwork for enhanced efficiency and sustainable development in the coming period.
