On the morning of January 23, 2026, in Hanoi, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank), in coordination with the Faculty of Management Information Systems at the National Economics University, organized a seminar entitled “Digital Transformation at Co-opBank.”
Attending the seminar on behalf of Co-opBank were Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam, Deputy General Director, along with leaders from several departments at the Head Office.
Representing the Faculty of Management Information Systems at the National Economics University were Mr. Tran Quang Yen, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, and postgraduate students currently enrolled in the faculty’s master’s programs.

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam, Deputy General Director of Co-opBank, stated that Co-opBank views digital transformation not merely as an investment in and application of technology, but as a comprehensive process of innovation encompassing management mindset, organizational models, operational processes, and people. In particular, the human factor—the readiness and adaptability of staff—plays a pivotal role and is decisive to the effectiveness of digital transformation. Implementing digital transformation in alignment with an appropriate roadmap has enabled Co-opBank to gradually modernize its operations and develop digital banking products and services such as Co-opBank Mobile Banking, the CF-eBank electronic banking system, and Co-opBank Napas chip cards, thereby enhancing service quality for customers, People’s Credit Funds (PCFs), and members, and reaffirming its role as the bank of the PCFs network
Sharing at the seminar, Mr. Tran Quang Yen, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management Information Systems at the National Economics University, emphasized that the event holds significant meaning in strengthening the linkage between educational institutions and the practical operations of the banking sector. The open and in-depth discussions on digital transformation, technology application, data governance, and system security not only enabled students to directly access practical experience from a specialized financial institution such as Co-opBank, but also contributed to improving the quality of training and research at the Faculty of Management Information Systems, with the aim of developing high-quality human resources capable of meeting the requirements of the banking sector’s digital transformation in the new era.

At the seminar, discussions took place in a lively atmosphere, with numerous opinions, questions, and in-depth exchanges from trainees focusing on the digital transformation process at Co-opBank. Topics of particular interest included the application of new technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in banking operations; the collection, processing, and operation of big data systems; risk management; and the evaluation of digital transformation effectiveness. Through open and frank two-way exchanges, trainees were provided with guidance and clarification on professional issues closely linked to practical management and operational activities. This enabled them to gain valuable hands-on insights, contributing to stronger linkage between theoretical knowledge and the management and governance practices of financial–banking institutions in the context of digital transformation.
The seminar “Digital Transformation at Co-opBank” not only reaffirmed the effectiveness of cooperation between Co-opBank and the National Economics University in training, research, and knowledge sharing, but also helped disseminate practical digital transformation thinking closely aligned with banking operations, meeting the requirements for the sector’s sustainable development in the current era.
