Typhoon No. 10 and subsequent flooding caused severe and widespread damage, particularly in the provinces of Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La, Tuyen Quang, and Hanoi. Many People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) were heavily affected: offices were flooded, IT equipment was damaged, documents were destroyed, and operations were disrupted, directly impacting member services.
In this difficult context, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) and the Safety Assurance Fund for the PCFs network (the Safety Fund) implemented emergency support measures to help PCFs quickly restore working conditions and stabilize operations.
Based on proposals from the grassroots level, Co-opBank and the Safety Fund donated seven computer sets and two printers to the following PCFs: Nam Cuong, Hong Ha, Nguyen Phuc, Co Phuc (Lao Cai province), Phuong Cach (Hanoi), and Yen Bien (Tuyen Quang). This support helps these units quickly re-establish their working environment, process documents, and promptly serve their members.
This support reaffirms the role of Co-opBank and the Safety Fund as central entities responsible for connecting, supporting, and ensuring the safety of the system. In the coming period, amid increasingly complex natural disaster risks, Co-opBank and the Safety Fund will strengthen emergency support measures to help the PCF network overcome challenges and maintain stable and safe operations.
