Typhoon No. 13 (Kalmaegi) recently caused severe damage across many provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions, directly affecting the lives of local residents, including officers, union members, and employees of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank). The typhoon made landfall on November 6, 2025, in Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai province, where the Co-opBank Binh Dinh branch is located, inflicting heavy losses on the area. Numerous houses were destroyed or lost their roofs, while trees and electric poles were toppled, leading to widespread power outages. Preliminary statistics indicate that 18 officers and grassroots union members of the Co-opBank Binh Dinh branch suffered property damage, with most families losing roof tiles or metal sheets, having ceilings collapse, and in some cases, kitchens being destroyed.
Upholding the tradition of “mutual support and shared compassion,” immediately after receiving information on the impact of the storm on union members, the Standing Committee of the Co-opBank Trade Union convened and decided to provide assistance to officers and union members affected by Typhoon No. 13. On November 9, 2025, on behalf of the Standing Committee of Co-opBank Trade Union, Mrs. Vu Thanh Hang – Member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairwoman of the Co-opBank Trade Union, together with a delegation, visited, encouraged, and directly presented 18 relief packages to affected officers and union members. The total support amount was VND 18 million, sourced from the Co-opBank Gratitude Fund.
This timely assistance reflects the care and solidarity of the entire Co-opBank system toward officers and union members in disaster-affected areas, offering encouragement to help them overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. At the same time, it spreads the spirit of compassion and mutual support among Co-opBank officers, union members, and employees.
