Upholding the spirit of “Mutual Support and Solidarity” and in order to assist people in areas affected by Storm No. 10, while responding to the call from the Youth Union of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), on the morning of October 7, 2025, at the Head Office of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank), the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Co-opBank launched a donation campaign to support those impacted by Storm No. 10 (Bualoi).
The event was attended by Ms. Dang Mai Phuong – Member of the Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Co-opBank Trade Union; other members of the Board of Directors; the Executive Board; the Supervisory Board; Secretaries of Party Cells under the Co-opBank Party Committee; heads of departments; along with officers, youth union members, and employees from the Head Office and six subordinate youth branches of the Co-opBank Youth Union.
Overview of the Donation Launch Event
At the launch event, Ms. Bui Thi Bich Ngoc – Secretary of the Co-opBank Youth Union – shared that in September, four consecutive storms formed and moved across the East Sea, severely affecting many provinces across the country. In particular, Typhoon No.10 (Bualoi) caused extensive human and material losses in the northern and north-central regions of Vietnam.
According to preliminary statistics as of October 2, 2025, Typhoon No.10 left 36 people dead, 21 missing, and 147 injured; destroyed or collapsed 160 houses; damaged 154,807 houses; and devastated 51,269 hectares of crops, 13,478 hectares of aquaculture, while sweeping away 1,638 livestock and 405,359 poultry. A total of 1,429 schools were affected, 20,772 meters of embankments, riverbanks, and coastlines eroded, and 8,264 power poles broken or toppled. The total estimated economic damage in several provinces and cities reached approximately VND 11 trillion.
“The donation drive today is an opportunity for Co-opBank’s young generation to uphold the spirit of ‘Mutual support and solidarity – The healthy leaves protect the torn ones,’ joining hands to help flood-affected communities overcome their difficulties and quickly return to normal life,” Ms. Bui Thi Bich Ngoc emphasized.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Van Giang, Standing Deputy General Director of Co-opBank affirmed that Co-opBank has always regarded social responsibility as an integral part of its corporate culture. He emphasized that today’s donation drive not only reflects the compassion and solidarity of Co-opBank’s staff toward people in flood-affected areas, but also demonstrates the spirit of unity, kindness, and social responsibility — core values that the entire system has consistently upheld and promoted.
“Notably, the Co-opBank Youth Union continues to affirm its role as a pioneering force in social welfare activities, taking the lead in mobilizing, organizing, and spreading the spirit of charity among all employees and union members. This is not only a meaningful act of goodwill, but also a vivid expression of the connection between social responsibility and Co-opBank’s mission of sustainable development,” Mr. Nguyen Van Giang stressed.

During the event, all officials, youth members, and employees of Co-opBank joined hands to donate in the spirit of solidarity and mutual support, sharing the hardships of flood-affected communities. This meaningful and heartfelt act not only reflects Co-opBank’s deep compassion toward the people of Central Vietnam but also spreads profound humanitarian values among its staff. All collected donations will be consolidated and transferred to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through the Youth Union of the SBV to promptly support households severely affected by the floods.
