On October 7, 2025, the Banking Academy held a solemn ceremony to mark the opening of the 2025–2026 academic year and to launch the series of events welcoming new students under the theme “Developing Human Resources in the AI Era.” On this occasion, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) awarded scholarships worth VND 100 million to students of the Banking Academy for the 2025–2026 academic year, as an encouragement to their studies and a gesture of support for the young generation of future banking professionals.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh – Member of the Standing Committee of Party Committee and Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV); representatives from SBV departments and agencies; commercial banks, branch institutes and training centers. From the Banking Academy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huu Toan – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Academy Council, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh – Deputy Director in charge of Executive Board, attended along with a large number of lecturers, researchers, and students from various courses.
Representing Co-opBank, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Cuc – Deputy General Director attended and personally presented the VND 100 million scholarship to the representative of the Banking Academy. This annual initiative demonstrates Co-opBank’s strong commitment to social responsibility and its continued efforts to accompany the education and training sector, particularly in nurturing high-quality human resources for the banking industry.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh – Deputy Director of the Banking Academy extended her congratulations to all lecturers, students, and especially more than 4,000 freshmen of the 28th intake. She emphasized that in the 2024–2025 academic year, the Academy achieved remarkable milestones across various fields: innovating curricula in line with accreditation standards, strengthening scientific research, integrating digital and AI technologies, expanding international cooperation, and modernizing campus facilities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Hoang Anh also conveyed a meaningful message to students: “University is not only a place to acquire knowledge but also a journey to cultivate values and social responsibility. Be curious, dare to learn, dare to try and even dare to make mistakes in order to grow. Always live with integrity and pursue what is right.”

Speaking at the event, SBV Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh extended his best wishes for the new academic year to the university’s faculty, staff, and especially the new students. He commended the Academy for its outstanding achievements over the past year, from education innovation and faculty development to scientific research advancement and the enhancement of modern learning facilities.
Amid the ongoing digital transformation and rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI), the Deputy Governor demanded the Banking Academy to continue playing a pioneering role in training high-quality human resources capable of adapting to technological change and meeting the demands of integration and sustainable development.

On this occasion, Deputy Governor Nguyen Ngoc Canh, on behalf of the SBV’s leadership, presented the Governor’s Special Scholarship to students who had achieved outstanding academic and personal accomplishments during the 2024–2025 academic year. In addition, representatives from the SBV and the Banking Academy awarded scholarships for students majoring in banking, as well as commendations for valedictorians of both the 2025 graduation class and university entrance cohort. Representatives from commercial banks, financial institutions, organizations, and enterprises both domestic and international also granted scholarships to students of the Banking Academy for the 2025–2026 academic year. These meaningful awards recognize students’ efforts in learning and self-development while encouraging the young generation to continue striving for excellence.
In particular, the VND 100 million scholarship presented by Co-opBank was not only a material gift but also a message of inspiration to students: motivating them to keep learning, striving, and contributing to the nation’s banking sector in the future. The scholarship program for students of the Banking Academy forms part of Co-opBank’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility.
