On September 19, 2025, in Hanoi, the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) for the 2025–2030 term was solemnly convened. This important event marks the maturity of the Youth Union organization on a new stage of development, affirming the pioneering and creative role of young people in the process of building and developing Co-opBank.
The Congress was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Member of the Party Committee of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), Party Secretary, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank; Ms. Dang Mai Phuong – Member of the Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Co-opBank Trade Union; along with members of the Co-opBank Party Committee, the Co-opBank Executive Board, and all Co-opBank Youth Union members.
Among the invited guests were Mr. Tran Long – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the SBV, together with representatives of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the SBV.

Steadfast Spirit, Remarkable Achievements
During the past term, under the direct leadership of the Party Committee and with the attention and support of the Co-opBank Management Board, the Youth Union’s activities and movements have seen many positive changes. Revolutionary action movements were implemented in a synchronized manner, closely linked with professional duties, creating an environment for Youth Union members to train, dedicate, and mature.
The movement “Youth Pioneering in Digital Transformation” received enthusiastic participation from members, contributing to enhancing technological application capacity in banking operations, from the head office to branch levels. Many initiatives to improve operational processes, save costs, and enhance risk management efficiency were undertaken by young members, bringing practical value.

In addition, the movement “Volunteering for the Community” continued to spread widely. Thousands of Youth Union members participated in social welfare programs, supporting underprivileged students, donating blood, and joining efforts to build new rural areas in many localities. The image of Co-opBank youth as passionate and responsible has left a positive impression on the community.
The Co-opBank Youth Union has consistently focused on implementing activities to “remember the source when drinking water,” paying tribute to heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, and families with meritorious service to the revolution. Youth Union members have organized incense offerings at martyrs’ cemeteries, visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy-beneficiary families in various provinces. These meaningful activities not only help educate revolutionary traditions and instill national pride in the younger generation but also spread the admirable image of Co-opBank youth as compassionate and socially responsible.
Efforts to strengthen the Youth Union organization have been emphasized, with many grassroots units effectively promoting their core role, fostering member cohesion, and improving the quality of activities. The development of Party membership among young union members has also achieved positive results, contributing high-quality human resources to the Co-opBank Party Committee.
“Solidarity – Courage – Creativity – Pioneering in Digital Transformation”
Alongside the notable achievements, the past term still revealed some limitations. Certain movement activities were not implemented uniformly across grassroots Youth Union branches; the application of technology in Youth Union activities was not yet widespread; and the organizational skills of grassroots Youth Union officers remained uneven. The Congress candidly identified these causes and drew valuable lessons to serve as a foundation for the direction in the coming period.

The Congress identified the action motto of Co-opBank youth in the new stage as: “Solidarity – Courage – Creativity – Pioneering in Digital Transformation, Volunteering for the Community, Contributing to the Sustainable Development of Co-opBank.”
The Congress also set key objectives such as promoting the application of digital technology in Youth Union activities; building online activity models and forums to connect initiatives; launching the movement “Co-opBank Youth Accompanying Customers,” encouraging members to promote creativity, improve service processes, and enhance the quality of the bank’s services; strengthening charity and social welfare programs, linking youth responsibility with the community, especially in remote areas where Co-opBank operates; improving the quality of Youth Union officials, fostering management and leadership skills, creating a source of young successor staff for the system; striving in this term to develop more outstanding Youth Union members to be introduced to the Party for consideration of admission, affirming the role of the Youth Union as the reliable reserve force of the Party; building the image of Co-opBank youth who are integrated, courageous, and responsible, meeting the development requirements of a modern bank, in line with the overall development strategy to 2030 and with a longer-term vision.
Faith and Expectations
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Co-opBank Youth Union for the 2025–2030 term, consisting of exemplary members with integrity, competence, and enthusiasm. This core force represents the will and aspirations of the youth throughout the system and is ready to shoulder the responsibility of advancing Youth Union work and youth movements with greater depth and effectiveness.

Delivering his directive speech at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong – Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Co-opBank acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the Youth Union during the past term. He affirmed that the youth’s action movements have been closely linked with the Bank’s political tasks, demonstrating a pioneering, creative, and responsible spirit, making important contributions to the sustainable development of the entire system.
Entering a new stage of development, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong emphasized that Co-opBank is facing both opportunities and challenges: the national digital transformation process opens up prospects for growth, while competitive pressure from commercial banks, Fintech companies, and internal difficulties of the PCF system still remain. In this context, Co-opBank Youth Union members must continue to assert their role as the vanguard force in innovation, creativity, and digital transformation.
He outlined three major requirements for Co-opBank youth: Dedication – to dare to think, dare to act, dare to take responsibility, and be ready to lead in new initiatives; Wisdom – to constantly study, practice, acquire modern knowledge and technology, and apply them in practice; and Devotion – to give one’s best, stay committed to the collective, uphold the spirit of solidarity and sharing, and nurture the aspiration to rise for common development.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors also stressed that the Co-opBank Management Board will always care for, accompany, and create favorable conditions for the Youth Union to fully promote its role, becoming a young and creative driving force that contributes decisively to Co-opBank’s success in the new era. He expressed his firm belief that, with aspiration, intelligence, and youthful energy, the Co-opBank Youth Union of the 2025–2030 term will continue to be the core force worthy of the trust of the Party Committee, the Management Board, and all staff members, contributing to making Co-opBank a modern, safe, efficient, and sustainable bank.
Delivering the concluding directive speech at the Congress, Mr. Tran Long – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the SBV congratulated and highly appreciated the outstanding results that the Co-opBank Youth Union achieved during the past term. He emphasized that the youth movements and activities of Co-opBank have been innovative and creative, closely aligned with political tasks, making significant contributions to the overall development of Co-opBank as well as to the youth movement of the banking sector.
He requested that, in the 2025–2030 term, Co-opBank youth continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, pioneering, and dynamism, focusing on action movements linked to professional duties, especially digital transformation, enhancing service quality, and modernizing the bank.
Successfully concluding, the Co-opBank Youth Union Congress for the 2025–2030 term created a renewed momentum and new confidence, affirming the pioneering role of youth in all operational fields of the Bank. With solidarity, courage, and the aspiration to contribute, Co-opBank youth will continue to write proud new chapters in the journey of building Co-opBank into a sustainable, modern, and humane bank.
