Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) is a major national event, accompanied by numerous political and social activities, including social security payments and gift distributions to citizens in accordance with Official Telegram No. 149/CĐ-TTg dated August 28, 2025, from the Prime Minister. Recognizing its responsibility as a community-oriented bank and following the directives of the Prime Minister and the State Bank of Vietnam, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) worked throughout the holiday to ensure its payment system operated safely and smoothly during the entire celebration period.

76,000 transactions processed safely

During the holiday, Co-opBank’s CF-eBank electronic banking system recorded over 76,000 transactions along with 232 verification requests, most of which were related to social welfare payments, allowances for people with meritorious services to the Revolution, and other government-supported assistance and gifts. Notably, at certain times the system processed nearly 60,000 payment orders in a single day, reflecting significant technical and personnel pressure.

However, due to careful preparation of both human resources and technology infrastructure, all transactions were handled timely, accurately, and securely. This serves as clear evidence of Co-opBank’s operational capacity and its ability to meet urgent, real-world demands.

Connecting the PCF system, spreading social welfare

Not only ensuring smooth payment operations, Co-opBank also closely coordinated with member People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) in the process of receiving and distributing funds to beneficiaries. Thanks to the extensive PCF network, tens of thousands of policy beneficiaries and rural households in remote areas received their allowances and gifts promptly, completely, and securely.

This close connection clearly demonstrates Co-opBank’s role as the “bank of the PCFs,” while also affirming the synergistic strength of the cooperative financial system, where Co-opBank serves as the central pillar and the PCFs act as the extended arms, bringing capital and services closer to the people.

Operational capacity and Social significance

Maintaining stable operations during a major holiday peak carries multiple layers of significance. On one hand, it serves as a real-world test of Co-opBank’s technology infrastructure and risk management capabilities, demonstrating that the bank is fully capable of handling a high volume of transactions in a short period.

On the other hand, this activity reflects Co-opBank’s sense of responsibility and commitment to serving the community. By ensuring timely social welfare payments, the bank has directly contributed to strengthening public trust in the microfinance system, providing an important social anchor as the country joyfully commemorates a major national holiday.

Affirming the core role in Microfinance

As the only bank directly serving the PCF system, Co-opBank is consistently recognized as a core force in Vietnam’s microfinance sector. The bank not only operates effectively under normal conditions but also has the capacity to undertake important political and social tasks, working alongside the Party and the State in implementing major policies.

This also reinforces Co-opBank’s position in the process of modernizing the banking sector, aiming to build a financial service system that is safe, transparent, and community-friendly.

Towards sustainable development

From this experience, Co-opBank has drawn valuable lessons in personnel management, enhancing technological capacity, and strengthening coordination with member PCFs. Moving forward, the bank aims to expand electronic banking services, increase cashless payment conveniences, and further consolidate its network to serve PCF members and local communities more effectively.

Through its efforts during the peak of the 80th National Day celebrations, Co-opBank once again affirms its commitment to community development, supporting the PCF system, and promoting the sustainable development of the country’s socio-economic landscape.
