Exciting Football Tournament Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Co-opBank

On the morning of August 2, 2025, in a vibrant and joyful atmosphere toward the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) – formerly the Central People’s Credit Fund (August 5, 1995 – August 5, 2025), the Football Tournament celebrating Co-opBank’s founding day officially kicked off, creating a meaningful sporting event where passionate hearts gathered to spread the spirit of unity and connection.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Dang Mai Phuong – Member of the Board of Directors, Chairwoman of Co-opBank’s Trade Union extended her sincere thanks and best wishes for health, happiness, and success to all delegates, players, referees, supporters, and the Organizing Committee who dedicated great efforts to the tournament. She emphasized that this tournament is not only a health and wellness activity but also a valuable opportunity for exchange, learning, and strengthening solidarity among staff, union members, and workers across the Co-opBank system, the PCFs, and the State Bank of Vietnam – agencies and institutions that have accompanied Co-opBank over the past 30 years.

From its early days full of hardship and challenges, Co-opBank has gradually risen strongly, affirming its position as “the Bank of PCFs.” Throughout its 30 years of formation and development, Co-opBank has always stood shoulder to shoulder and effectively supported the PCF system nationwide, contributing to the stable and sustainable development of Vietnam’s banking industry.

“This tournament is also an occasion for us to commemorate 30 years of tradition, construction, and growth, taking pride in the achievements attained. It is a chance for every officer and employee to reaffirm their belief, strive harder, be more creative, and dedicate themselves to the strong development of Co-opBank and the PCF system. Through each match, the spirit of teamwork and unity is nurtured, inspiring pride and determination to overcome all challenges ahead,” Ms. Dang Mai Phuong emphasized.

The participation of the Central Bank Youth Union team in this tournament was a vivid testament to the strong, close-knit relationship among the State Bank, Co-opBank, and the PCFs. It symbolized the spirit of joint development for the prosperity of Vietnam’s banking sector.

The tournament concluded successfully with thrilling matches, beautiful plays, impressive goals, and fair play spirit. The referees officiated fairly and objectively, ensuring transparency. The players competed with solidarity, honesty, and nobility, offering great sporting moments.

Each match was made even more exciting thanks to enthusiastic, civilized supporters who energized the teams and contributed to a fiery, united, and friendly atmosphere.

After a series of exciting and intense matches, in a solemn and joyful atmosphere, the Organizing Committee held the Award Ceremony to honor individuals and teams with outstanding achievements in the tournament.

Specifically, in the Gold Cup Division, the team from Hung Yen Branch was honored for their excellent performance. Notably, the Gold Cup Championship title was awarded to the team from Nam Dinh Branch, who demonstrated a resilient fighting spirit and truly deserved to be crowned the tournament champions

In the Silver Cup Division, the honors went to the teams from Co-opBank Head Office and Bac Ninh Branch.

In the Bronze Cup Division, the teams from Thai Binh Branch and Hanoi Branch were honored.

The Prospective Cup Division was awarded to two teams: Central Bank Youth Union Team and the Vinh Phuc Branch team.

Individual awards included the title of Best Player, which was awarded to Pham Van Huyen from the Thai Binh Branch team, and Best Goalkeeper, which went to Pham Xuan Nam from the Bac Ninh Branch team.

In her closing remarks at the football tournament celebrating the 30th anniversary of Co-opBank, Ms. Dang Mai Phuong affirmed: “The success of the tournament is a vivid mark of solidarity, a flame of enthusiasm that will continue to spread into our daily work. I believe that all of us are winners – winners in passion, in the spirit of unity, and in the determination for the development of Co-opBank, the PCF system, and the Vietnamese banking sector”.
