On June 27, 2025, at the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Commune, Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) organized a ceremony to hand over 5 houses and present support gifts to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 5 poor and near-poor households in the locality. This program is part of the campaign “The Whole Country Joins Hands to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing” launched by the Prime Minister, with the aim of bringing stable living conditions to people facing housing difficulties.
At the ceremony, Ms. Dang Mai Phuong – Full-time Member of the Board of Directors, Chairwoman of the Co-opBank Trade Union, on behalf of Co-opBank, handed over 5 houses under the housing support program, with a total funding of VND 300 million to 5 households – the funds are used to build solid houses to replace dilapidated ones, helping families have safe and stable accommodations.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ms. Dang Mai Phuong stated: this house handover is part of the Government-initiated program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing. It is a deeply humanitarian initiative reflecting the special attention of the Party and the State to families still facing many hardships. Co-opBank always recognizes that the bank’s sustainable development is closely linked with the shared prosperity of the community, especially in disadvantaged areas. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Ut – Secretary of the Party Committee of Binh Thuan Commune, on behalf of the local government and residents, expressed sincere thanks to Co-opBank, saying this was timely and meaningful support. It not only helped the locality eliminate temporary houses but also motivated people to stabilize their lives. He expressed hope that Co-opBank would continue to accompany the locality in socio-economic development activities. This cooperation not only builds housing for people but also opens up opportunities to attract investment and drive local development.
Immediately after the ceremony at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan Commune, the delegation led by Ms. Dang Mai Phuong visited the 5 families and conducted the house signage ceremony for each of the newly built homes. At each house, Ms. Dang Mai Phuong presented household appliances to the families, with a total value of VND 10 million. Receiving financial support to build a house and gifts during the house completion stage, the families were filled with joy and happiness. All recipient households were poor or in difficult circumstances. Previously, they had to live in thatched houses with mud walls, constantly anxious during storms. Now, with support from Co-opBank, government agencies, and relatives, they have built spacious homes.
“These past days, my family has been overwhelmed with joy. The dream of a solid home once seemed so distant, but it has now come true thanks to the care from the Party, the State, and Co-opBank,” shared Mr. Hoang Minh Yen’s family representative from Quan Hamlet, Binh Thuan Commune, with emotion.
