On May 20, 2025, at the Summary Ceremony of the online contest “Banking Sector Employees Learn About Occupational Safety and Hygiene” organized by the Vietnam National Union of Bank Workers (VNUBW), the Trade Union of the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) excellently won the collective Second Prize and one individual Consolation Prize.
The 2025 online contest “Banking Sector Employees Learn About Occupational Safety and Hygiene” is one of the activities organized by the VNUBW in implementation of Plan No. 192/KH-TLD dated February 24, 2025, and Guideline No. 41/HD-TLD dated February 24, 2025, of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour regarding the organization of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Hygiene 2025 across all trade union levels. The contest aimed to raise knowledge and skills for complying with safety regulations and procedures at the workplace, contributing to the prevention and reduction of occupational accidents and diseases, and enhancing enterprises’ awareness and responsibility in complying with laws on occupational safety, hygiene, and environmental protection.
The contest lasted 15 days (from May 5 to May 15, 2025) in an online learning and testing format, allowing union members and employees to participate easily via smart devices. With the coordination of the VTC Institute of Digital Education and Training, the contest was professionally organized with secure technical infrastructure and effective technical support.
The contest covered two topics: Topic 1: Understanding Occupational Safety and Hygiene, Topic 2: Understanding Environmental Protection. For each topic, participants had 10 minutes of study time followed by a 10-minute multiple-choice test with practical, relatable, and work-relevant content.
In response to and participation in the contest, with well-prepared, thorough, and methodical efforts, the Co-opBank Trade Union was commended as one of the units with high participation, excellent results, and successfully won the collective Second Prize. This achievement clearly reflects the effort, responsibility, and spirit of innovation of the Co-opBank collective in trade union activities in general and in promoting safety awareness in particular. The contest confirmed the effectiveness of online communication and education—a format well-aligned with the digital transformation trends of the banking sector today.

In addition to the collective success, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy – a Cash Accounting Officer at Co-opBank Binh Thuan Branch – also won a Consolation Prize for her impressive individual performance, demonstrating a proactive learning spirit and strong initiative in acquiring knowledge about occupational safety, hygiene, and environmental protection.
The contest was not only an opportunity for units to affirm their pioneering role in awareness campaigns but also contributed to enhancing awareness and voluntary compliance with workplace safety procedures throughout the system. In doing so, it helped gradually build a safe – green – clean – beautiful working environment, aimed toward sustainable and humane development of the banking sector.
