In line with Plan No. 10/KH-NHNN dated September 12, 2024, issued by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) on organizing the 9th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the banking sector and in celebration of Co-opBank’s meaningful 30th anniversary (1995–2025) the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) is actively preparing for its 5th Advanced Role Model Commendation Conference for the 2020–2025 period, scheduled for mid-May in Hanoi. This is one of the most significant events of 2025. It not only serves as a five-year review of the patriotic emulation movement, but also as an opportunity to honor exemplary individuals and collectives those who have served as driving forces behind Co-opBank’s innovation and sustainable development.
A Series of Grassroots Conferences: Insights from Practice, Momentum from the Ground Up
To lay the foundation for the system-wide conference, in the spirit of thrift and efficiency, Co-opBank’s 32 branches nationwide organized local conferences in early 2025 to commend outstanding and creative employees. These conferences were held alongside annual reviews and employee assemblies at each branch. They were conducted thoughtfully and meaningfully, helping to recognize achievements and spread the spirit of emulation among frontline staff directly performing their duties.
From these branch-level events, many exemplary faces emerged dedicated officers leading digital transformation efforts and actively contributing to PCF operations. Each individual brought a unique story of commitment, creativity, and tireless effort toward a shared goal: building a modern, efficient, and sustainable cooperative banking system.
The most outstanding role models were selected to attend and be honored at the system-wide Commendation Conference where the essence of the Co-opBank-wide emulation movement will be celebrated.
The System-wide Conference: Inspiring the Future
According to the plan, the system-wide Advanced Role Model Commendation Conference will serve to review and assess five years of patriotic emulation (2020–2025), affirm achievements, and identify remaining shortcomings. It will also outline directions and tasks for promoting emulation and improving Co-opBank’s reward practices in the 2025–2030 period. The conference will honor outstanding collectives and individuals throughout the Co-opBank system who have excelled in emulation movements. It aims to ignite solidarity and motivation to successfully accomplish Co-opBank’s missions and contribute to the overall objectives of the banking sector. The event will also offer lessons learned in organizing emulation campaigns and reward mechanisms, and in building and expanding role models while addressing areas for improvement to elevate emulation and rewards in the future.
Additionally, all Co-opBank units have been actively implementing key emulation campaigns launched by the Prime Minister, SBV Governor, and Co-opBank itself, such as:“The Whole Nation Unites to Build New Rural Areas”,“For the Poor – Leave No One Behind”, “Public Servants Compete to Uphold Office Culture”, “Promoting Synchronous, Modern Infrastructure Development; Practicing Thrift and Combating Wastefulness”
The organization of the conference has received special attention from Co-opBank’s Leadership and its Emulation and Reward Council, guided by the principle: “Honoring True Value – Sustaining Inspiration.” The event will not only be a moment of recognition but also a catalyst to ignite ambition, innovation, and pioneering spirit in every Co-opBank employee.
Emulation as a Driver, Role Models as the Core of Innovation
The 2020–2025 patriotic emulation movement at Co-opBank has paralleled major institutional transitions—from restructuring the PCF system and post-pandemic recovery, to accelerating digital transformation and strengthening supervision and risk management. Throughout this journey, Co-opBank staff have been the key force driving positive change—with intellect, resilience, and unwavering dedication.
This commendation conference will be a declaration of Co-opBank’s commitment to its people: people as the center – emulation as the driver – innovation as the foundation. Today’s role models will be the core force leading and spreading the spirit of innovation—driving Co-opBank steadily forward into the future.
