In the process of digital transformation, the Co-operative Bank of Vietnam (Co-opBank) has organized online training courses to implement the new E-Banking System. This is a sub-project within the framework of the project “Strengthening the People’s Credit Funds System” (STEP) funded by the Department of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and implemented by DID in collaboration with Co-opbank.

From August 29 – September 9, 2022, Co-opbank organized 9 online training courses for the new CF-eBank e-banking system(also known as E-banking) to replace the old CF-eBank system for managers and accountants of 32 branches, 66 transaction offices and almost 700 PCFs in the system. This is the third training session within the subproject framework. Previously, training was carried out on 24/7 over the counter money transfer and bill payment and mobile top- up for the first and second phase respectively.
With a “hands-on” approach, Co-opBank has been focusing on practical training to help staff be aware of the procedures and able to perform transactions as soon as training is completed. During this training session, they have experienced different business scenarios and receive detailed instructions on interbank money transfer based on the new platform with new products and services and completely new functions. In which, internal transactions have many new features and utilities for e-banking members such as: money transfer via personal identification, internal money transfer via card/account number, payment transfer debt, capital contribution with Co-opbank, salary payment, open/close deposit accounts… In addition to new products and services, the new system has also improved in transaction processing: concentration of processing at the beginning and at the end of the day at the payment center; reducing manual steps; automatic accounting; especially, the role of forwarding orders at each organization has been improved to make transaction processing time faster and safer.
The training of staff to operate the new e-banking system will help Co-opbank better meet the needs of customers for modern banking products and services. The effective combination of a modern system with a network of nearly 750 transaction points has contributed to promoting non-cash payment activities according to the Government’s policy.
The willingness and determination of each staff in the digital transformation journey has made the training a great success.
After the training, the new CF-eBank system is expected to be launched in September 2022. This is a breakthrough for Co-opBank and a foundation for Co-opbank to continue researching and developing new products and services to serve members and customers, contributing to catching up with the trend of digital banking in the 4th industial revolution.
