On September 26, Co-opBank Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong welcomed the Korean primary credit unions delegation.
Co-opBank’s leaders in the meeting included Mr. Khuat Duy Tuan- Fulltime BoD member, Ms. Vu Thanh Hang- Fulltime BoD member and Mr. Nguyen Thac Tam- Deputy CEO.
The Korean primary credit unions delegation included 25 excutive directors of 25 credit unions in Korea.
In his welcome remark, Co-opbank Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong emphasized that the Nation Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) and the Korean credit unions have been long- term friends with Co-opBank and the Vietnamese PCFs system. They have been pioneers in the credit union movement in Asia and have restlessly provided support to similar systems in neighbouring counties including Vietnam. Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong sincerely thanked NACUFOK and other members of the Asian Association of Confederation of Credit Unions (ACCU) for their donations to help PCFs which suffered from historically heavy floods in Central Vietnam back in 2020.
The Korean primary credit unions delegation was briefed on the general organization, structure and operation of Co-opBank and the PCFs. They expressed their impression with the achievement that PCFs have gained over years with the support from Co-opBank as the apex institution.
Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong hoped that the credit unions in both countries would continue to exchange and share their lessions and experiences for their efficiency, safety and sustainability.
