On June 1st, 2022, the National Economics University (NEU) held a seminar on “Developing IT human resources and digital transformation in the context of the Industrial 4.0”

Prof., Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – NEU vice President; Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat – Chairman of Science and Training Council, Head of management unit of Advanced Education Programs and POHE; Dr. Vu Van Ngoc – Director of Advanced Education Programs and POHE; with members of the Science and Training Council; representatives of leaders of departments, institutes and centers throughout NEU.

Speaking at the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong highlighted that as one of the leading universities in Viet Nam, NEU focuses on providing high- quality human resources to promote industrialization, modernization and international integration of the country. NEU has assigned Advanced Education Programs and POHE to coordinate with the Institute of Information Technology & Digital Economy to build a high-quality bachelor’s training program “Information Technology and Digital Transformation” at NEU. In order to build a modern training program that meets the career needs after graduation for students, it is necessary to have suggestions about the training program from employers themselves. Prof. Dr. Chuong hoped that that seminar would generate valuable comments which help NEU to design a training program that meet the requirements of society.

At the seminar Co-opBank’s Deputy CEO Nguyen Thac Tam delivered a presentation on “Comprehensive digital transformation for co-operative credit institutions – Solutions to attract high-quality IT human resources at Co-opBank”. In which, he highlighted the necessity of digital transformation for the development of co-operative credit institutions. At the same time, affirming the role of Co-opBank as the Bank of People’s Credit Funds (PCFs) system, Co-opBank will promote its supports to PCFs in digital transformation, towards the goal of sustainable development in the coming time. Mr. Tam also affirmed Co-opbank will continuously accompanying with NEU to promote training programs in order to improve the quantity and quality of human resources toward meeting the digital transformation process.

In the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the application of digital platforms is an inevitable trend, improving competitive advantages and optimizing corporate governance. Especially in the difficult situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, regardless of the scale, it will be difficult for businesses to survive and develop if the fail to adapt to changes and promptly grasp the technology trends.

The digital economy is considered to be developing rapidly on a global scale. This is both a challenge and an opportunity for the Vietnamese economy to take advantage of as well as continue to improve the quality of education and training. Therefore, special attention must be paid into upgrading digital infrastructure and developing digital technology solutions.
