Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) leaders visit Co-opBank for the Lunar New Year 2022

On February 7- the 1st working day after the Lunar New Year- Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA)’s President Nguyen Ngoc Bao and other VCA leaders paid a visit to Co-opBank’s head office and gave new year wishes and encouragement to Co-opbank’s leaders and employees.

Co-opBank’s representatives included Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong,  standing  members of the Board of Directors; Supervisory Board; Deputy CEO in charge Nguyen Minh Tuan, other members of the Board of Management and representatives of all departments and centres at Co-opBank’s head office.

On behalf of the Co-opbank’s leaders and employees, Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong sincerely thanked VCA leaders, especially President Nguyen Ngoc Bao for their attention and support to the operation of Co-opBank and the PCFs system over the years. Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong also reported some positive results that Co-opBank has achieved in 2021. Thereby, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, thanks to the efforts of the whole system, Co-opBank has well performed its role as the Bank of all PCFs ensuring safe, efficient operation and sustainable development…

Success in 2021 can be gained is also due to timely direction of the Party, the State, National Assembly, Government, State Bank of Vietnam and the support from the VCA plus the efforts, determination and creativity of all Co-opBank’s leaders and staff. Entering 2022, Co-opBank is determined to fulfill its political as the Bank of all PCFs while aiming to achieve business targets and make contribution to the general socio-economic development of the country.

On behalf of the Party Union and Standing Committee of the VCA, President Nguyen Ngoc Bao sent his best wishes to all Co-opBank’s leaders and staff as well as the PCFs system great successes and prosperity.

According to Mr Nguyen Ngoc Bao, in 2021, though facing many difficulties, especially the consequences of the Covid-19 epidemic, Co-opBank has overcome those difficulties and fulfilled its role as a bank of PCFs, at the same time made efforts to fulfill business targets, sharing with the community and customers during the difficult time.

About the prority task in 2022, VCA President Nguyen Ngoc Bao emphasized that Co-opBank should be supported to have stronger financial resources. In 2022, VCA will propose to the National Assembly and the Government to increase Co-opBank‘s charter capital in order for it to better perform its responsibilities and role as the Bank of PCFs.

President Nguyen Ngoc Bao also highlighted that currently, Co-opBank is aiming to become a modern bank. Therefore, it should make more investment in digital transformation. Notably, Co-opBank officially launched the Digital Banking application on mobile phones. This is an important step for Co-opBank to increase its competitiveness, gain a foothold in the market, as well as improve its operational efficiency, supporting nearly 1,200 PCFs safely and efficiently and playing an important role in economic development in the rural areas…

“In the coming time, the relation between VCA and Co-opBank needs to be further tightened, to accelerate the development of Co-opBank and PCFs system, more associated with co-operative economic development”, said President Nguyen Ngoc Bao.
