At the beginning of November 2021, Co-opBank in collaboration with STEP organized the 2nd training session for more than 40 staff at Co-opBank’s Head Office. The first training session took place back in late April and early May 2021.
PCF Reporting Information Management System (PRMS) is a sub-project of the IT component under “Strengthening the People’s Credit Fund System Project” (STEP) which is funded by the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and jointly coordinated by DID and Co-opBank.
PRMS has been designed using data from PCF’s current reports which are submitted to the State Bank and it is aimed to provide in-depth reports to help Co-opBank in lending, managing and supervising the PCFs.
After more than a year in operation, PRMS has been operated stably and effectively. The system stores a large amount of data and has many potentials in supporting its end-users. The system itself has been overall completed, however there are still many things that need to be done which is to improve and ensure that it is used to its full potentials. Therefore, the PRMS system has been designed with 22 output reports, replacing the old CF-eMIS system which produced only 3 reports. STEP has worked closely with Co-opBank to develop in-depth training materials on these 22 reports in order to support Co-opBank in fully and effectively using these reports and improve Co-opBank’s PCFs supervisory capacity. Ultimately, PRMS system should serve not only as a financial reporting system but also a risk monitoring system of the PCFs.
During the 2nd session, the trainees were introduced to the remaining 12 reports and were guided on how to manipulate and utilize the reports in order to have a precise and comprehensive assessment of the PCFs’ operation. STEP’s experts also provided guidance and recommendations on the next steps that should be taken when potential complications and risks are detected.
In addition, in order to further promote PRMS’s application, Co-opBank and STEP have recently set up an joint working group on PCFs risk monitoring which regularly monitors and assesses the credit scoring of PCFs participating in the project, and from there a new risk monitoring framework for the entire PCFs system will be developed.
Following 02 training courses for Co-opBank’s Head Office staff, necessary adjustments will be made before training for Co-opBank’s 31 branches takes place in mid-November.

The 2nd training session of PRMS In-depth Analysis for Co-opBank Head Office staff took place from November2nd-5th, 2021.
