Co-opBank drastically implements “dual goals” in epidemic prevention and economic development

With a strong determination of the entire country in preventing the Covid-19 pandemic, through a number of specific solutions and actions, Co-opBank continues to effectively implement monetary policies, actively supports businesses and people to restore their production and businesses and stabilize their lives after the pandemic.

Supporting solutions for PCFs, people and businesses

Accompanying the whole political system and determined to realize the dual goals of pandemic prevention and economic development, Co-opBank continues to implement policies for PCFs, individuals and businesses affected by the Covid-19 epidemic to overcome difficulties, restore their production and businesses and stabilize their lives.

Accordingly, Co-opBank actively promotes communication and widely shares instructions of the Ministry of  Health on different measures to prevent and control the epidemic to a large number of customers and the community on its communication channels such as its website:www.co-opbank.vn, internal newsletter, announcements on LCD screens… at all of its branches and transaction offices nationwide. It has also conducted extensive communication on the mass media about supporting programs to for PCFs and customers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic to co-ordinate with them to find solutions for their difficulties.

Co-opBank has also increased communication and promotion to encourage customers to use electronic payment services and non-cash payment. On the one hand, they ensure smooth operations in the banking sector in providing banking services, on the other hand cashless payments have positively contributed to the prevention and control the Covid-19 epidemic, by ensuring a safe distance from people to people and from one community to another.

Regarding support for its customers, Co-opBank has restructured debts (both principals and interests), exempted and reduced interests for customers and maintained debt repayment term restructuring, interest and fee exemption and reduction while maintaining the same debt category for customers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in accordance with Circular 01/2020/TT-NHNN and Circular 03/2021/TT-NHNN.

Co-opBank has also issued a number of documents directing its branches to implement lending solutions to support customers to overcome the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic as well to be aware of their situation and the level of the pandemic’s impact on their lives and businesses.

Co-opBank’s branches have actively worked with customers affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, promptly applied measures to remove difficulties and support customers such by rescheduling loan payments, exempting or reducing of loan interest; flexible and suitable alternative investments; balancing and meeting customers’ demand for loans in order to maintain and stabilize production and business.

Most recently, for the entire month of June 2021, all CF-eBank-participating PCFs were able to make internal money transfer transactions free of charge. Also, from June 14-18 2021, PCFs and non-PCFs customers were able to make external money transfer transactions without any fee charges.

With a strong sense of responsibility and considering that pandemic prevention is a top task, Co-opBank staff have been required to be disciplined and ready to respond to any cases in the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic to ensure that the dual goals can be achieved.

Accordingly, Co-opBank has focused on propagating the direction of the Prime Minister and the State Bank to PCFs’ members and employees; strictly implemented epidemic prevention and control measures at the work place; regularly identified and monitored members and employees travelling to and from regions with a high risk of infection as announced by the Ministry of Health. Large gathering activities have been limited. National, regional and international news on current Covid-19 situation has been updated regularly. Different plans corresponding to different pandemic scenarios have been developed in order to ensure members and employees’ health and safe and smooth operation during the outbreak.

Co-opbank’s branches have actively set up a team to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic to update, monitor and promptly handle arising situations of the Covid-19 locally. In addition, all offices, transaction counters, floors, elevators, stairs and garages have been disinfected on a weekly basis. Branches have also provided free medical masks and hand sanitizers for staff, partners and customers. Co-opbank staffs have been rotated from working from home and at the office to ensure their health and safety.

Co-opBank’s staffs especially those at Bac Ninh and Bac Giang branches, have also equipped themselves with a strong spirit and determination in the Covid-19 prevention and control campaign. The level of customer services at Co-opBank has been remained intact as if the pandemic were non-existent. Co-opBank has been making its best effort in joining hands with the whole country in pandemic prevention while fulfilling its role as the Bank of the PCFs network.
