In response to the call of the Chairman of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front in “The entire population join to support the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic” campaign, Co-opBank’s BoD member, standing Deputy CEO and Chairman of Trade Union Nguyen Duc Dung and Co-opBank’s BoD member, Deputy Chairwoman of Trade Union Dang Mai Phuong handed a donation of 1 billion VND (about 43,000 USD) for the Covid-19 prevention campaign at the head office of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man highly appreciated Co-opBank for its donation. According to Mr. Man, the banking sector is one of the leading sectors in contributing resources for the Covid-19 prevention campaign and joining hands with the Party, the States and the Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front. These resources will be used to support doctors, medical staff, soldiers and police at the front line against the Covid-19 epidemic as well as at quarantine locations across the country.
According to Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the epidemic situation in the rest of the world has not yet been under control with increasing number of infections every day, even re-infections have been reported in some cases. However, Vietnam’s epidemic prevention campaign has achieved some positive results. In the last few days, the Ministry of Health has not announced any new cases. Also, most Covid-19 patients have been cured. This is a good sign that Vietnam will be able to continue to minimize the number of infections in the coming time. The Party and government’s drastic management and important policies as well as Vietnamese people’s consensus and unity have contributed to Vietnam’s success in Covid-19 prevention.
Promoting the ‘caring is sharing” spirituality, Co-opBank has encouraged its entire staff to donate to bring more resources to the national Covid-19 prevention campaign.
In line with the government and the State Bank of Vietnam’s guidelines, Co-opBank has been active in drawing up plans to ensure stable banking operations and prompt support to PCFs members. Also, it has given out free masks and hand sanitizers to its staff and customers, checked body temperature and disinfected its offices. For customers which have been affected by the Covid-19, Co-opBank has supported them by restructuring loan repayment schedule, exempting or reducing loan interest and etc. to help them in difficult time.
Co-opBank’s effort in Covid-19 prevention was highly appreciated by Chairman Tran Thanh Man. He hoped that Co-opBank would continue to gain great successes and contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
