The exhibition of the achievements in the development of collective economy and cooperatives from 2016 to 2020 was hosted by Vietnam Co-operatives Alliance (VCA) and held at the Vietnam National Convention Center (Hanoi) to exhibit and introduce information and documents about the development achievements of the collective economic sector, cooperatives and activities of the VCA. This was an important events for over 26,000 co-operatives, 100 co-operatives unions, nearly 120,000 co-operatives groups and over 10 million staff and members in VCA system. This exhibition was to celebrate the 6th National Congress of Vietnam Cooperatives Alliance, term 2020 – 2025 and the 13th National Congress of the Party.
It was a special honour for Co-opBank to receive Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. It proved that credit co-operatives have become an important credit channel, making great contribution to the agricultural and rural economic sector and they have received great interest from government leaders.
As the Bank of all PCFs, Co-opBank has fulfilled its role in supporting its member PCFs through intermediating capital and providng products and services. Particularly, Co-opBank has invested in and desgined the core banking system, money transfer and payment system to diversify PCF’s products and services and therefore improve PCF’s images.
With Co-opBank’s support, the PCFs system has developed to nearly 1,200 PCFs with over 1.6 million members (who are representatives of over 1.6 million households) in 57/63 provinces and cities with total capital of over 120,000 biliion VND (equivalent to 5.2 billion USD). By providing loans to local members, PCFs have helped to promote agricultural businesses and production and been an important tool for implementing the goal of hunger eradication and poverty reduction and limiting usury in rural areas.
