A seminar on “Banking and digital transformation” was organized by Co-opBank in collaboration with the Vietnam Innovation and Digital Transformation Institution (VIDTI) at Co-opBank’s headoffice. This is particularly relevant as innovation and digital transformation has been a strong trend globally especially in the banking sector.
VIDTI Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Lan, vice chairpersons and experts in digital transformation were present at the seminar. Co-opBank’s leader including Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong, members of Board of Director, Board of Managers, Board of Controllers and department managers at Co-opBank’s headoffice and managers of Transaction Centre, Hai Ba Trung and Ha Tay branch also attended the seminar.
Opening the seminar, Co-opBank’s Deputy CEO Nguyen Thac Tam gave an introduction on Co-opBank’s structure and operation. He highlighted that Co-opBank’s leader fully acknowledges the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution on all economic and social activities. Digitalization and digital transaformation are an inevitable and vital step.
VIDTI Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Bich Lan thanked Co-opBank for organizing this seminar and a clip on the overview of VIDTI was shown to the audience. Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lan hoped that this seminar would be a great start for the co-operation between two organizations in the future.
In order to clarify on digital transformation meaning and its trend, 4 of leading VIDTTI’s experts delivered presentations including VIDTI’s Deputy Chairman Dr. Pham Anh Tuan’s presentation on Introduction on digital transformation and the digital transformation trend in the banking sector, VIDTI’s Deputy Chairman Hoang Nguyen Van’s presentation on Roadmap from traditional banking to e-banking, Techxcorp CEO Ngo Ha’s presentation on Modern banking model in the digital era- Neobank and lastly Dr. Tran Mai Vu – PhD in Data Science from Technology University – Hanoi National University with a presentation on Al, Bigdata application and banking procedures.
In the seminar, other experts also delivered their speeches such as Canalcircle CEO Nguyen Thu Ha, True Money CEO Nguyen Thien Phuong and Kalapa CTO Do Ngoc Thien. Their expertise and knowledges were so valuable and diversied and questions raised from Co-opBank’s representatives were fully answered.
Closing the seminar, Co-opBank Chairman Nguyen Quoc Cuong praised the co-operation between both sides and requests more in-depth meeting between VIDTI experts and Co-opBank’s young staff. Digital transformation is a prequisite trend which requires solid and long term steps with relevant policies to Co-opBank’s operation.
After the seminar, VIDTI presented a souvenir book and the digital transformation framework to Co-opBank and took souvenir photos to mark friendly cooperation between the two sides.
In the coming time, in order to meet the urgent needs of the banking system in the digital transformation era, Co-opBank will continue to organize mores seminars, trainings and in-depth research exchanges to aim to be a digital bank with highly competitive products in the market.
